Philippa mitchell
Philippa has a studio in Hook, near Haverfordwest, but can be found plein-air sketching in watercolour recording the moments of inspiration found whilst walking. Landscapes especially coastal scenes, wildlife, strong sunlight and water offer particular inspiration. She has taken part in the John Busby Seabird Drawing Course in Scotland 2022 and 2023, and has exhibited successfully in open studios, art festivals and with an art collective in Fife. Her is in collections in USA, Ireland, Denmark and the UK. Four of Philippa’s paintings have been exhibited with Society of Wildlife Artists in The Mall Galleries, London.
Philippa was Artist in Residence for the Fife Coastal Path in 2023, during which time she walked the 117 mile route, filling a sketchbook. A resulting book was published and is available from the Fife Coast and Countryside Trust. She is now walking and sketching the coast of Pembrokeshire.
