I am a self-taught botanical watercolourist, using close observation to reveal the structure, resilience and seasonal rhythms of plants that grow around my home in North Wales. I am drawn to individual leaves, branches and small specimens, subjects that I like to paint larger than life to encourage a more attentive connection with the natural world.

Through delicate washes and precise detail, I have developed a personal style that relies on building up many translucent layers, allowing the form and character of each subject to emerge. I aim to balance botanical accuracy with an expressive sense of light and atmosphere. For me, painting is a way of paying attention, an opportunity to notice the shifts in colour that often go unseen.

My work has been shown in a range of regional, and national exhibitions, including the Royal Cambrian Academy, Williamson Gallery and the Mall Galleries. I was also selected to represent Wales in the Worldwide Botanical Art Exhibition in Birmingham and online in 32 countries around the world.
